The area around Parramatta is a rich source of archeological finds from our convict past. Children get to study examples of these ceramic artifacts such as marbles, dolls, small bowls, buttons and hair pins. Theses items will provide the inspiration for the children to make similar clay artifacts with the help and instruction of ceramic artists. All materials are provided.

There is much to be considered in the humble mug, particularly when creating your own unique version. In this workshop, students learn how to construct a personalised mug with assistance from practicing ceramicists. They will need to consider the form and function from its belly, handle, lip, and foot. And, of course, they can decorate their creation with colour, sprigs and texture. The mugs will be clear glazed, fired and ready for collection two weeks after the workshop. All materials provided.

Clay-fired teapots are regarded as superior to other styles because of their ability to bring out the full flavor of tea. So here’s an opportunity to throw your teabags away forever. This master class provides assemblage tips from our expert ceramicists on how to construct a balanced teapot – from the bell, lid, and spout to its handle that pours the perfect cupper. All materials are provided. Participants should be rated beginner to intermediate. Participants will assemble green ware teapots in this workshop.
