Previous Workshops
MINI CLAY GARDENS:
This workshop is designed for children who would like to create their own miniature
clay farm for growing succulents or herbs.
The miniature garden will be designed to contain 3 growing chambers with drainage
holes.
Using red terracotta, the pots will also be decorated with white slips, and garden
sprigs depicting insects and butterflies. The gardens will be dried, bisque and glaze
fired ready for collection in 3 weeks from date of workshop.
HAIRY POTS:
The concept of this workshop is for children to design a funny faced pot to contain
soil from which to plant cress, alfalfa or other herbs, which become the pots head of
hair. The design of the planter will enable children to consider space, form and function to hold the soil for the plant to thrive. The function of the pot becomes
aesthetically pleasing with addition of the hairdo which becomes edible!
The pots will be coloured if time permits using slips, then bisque fired and clear
glazed.
Peppa Pig Clay Family
In this workshop children will create colourful clay piggy family based on the popular children’s story book. They will be using clay and non toxic coloured clays to decorate this pig family. Pieces will be dried, bisque fired and then clear glazed, ready for collection in 3 weeks. You will receive an email when they are ready to collect.
Underwater world
Children will create a fantasy underwater scene using clay, slips and textures. From crabs to octopus, fish and sea weeds, this world will be brightly coloured using paint on clay slips. Pieces will be dried, bisque fired and then clear glazed, ready for collection in 3 weeks. You will receive an email when they are ready to collect.
Endangered Animal Cookie Jars
In this workshop, children will explore the joys of clay while raising their awareness about the endangered animals of our planet. The cookie jars will provide a reminder about the need to care for our endangered species.
Children will embellish pre-made wheel-thrown lidded forms to which they will add animal features using clay. The lidded jars will then be decorated with coloured slips.
