Course description: Classes will be designed to cater for beginners and the most experience with demonstrations and individual assistance provided. We will explore different techniques for hand building and strengthen your skills on the potter’s wheel. At the same time, we will experiment with texture and ceramic glazes using a variety of painting techniques. You will be encouraged to try all forms of hand building using your own ideas based on drawings and or digital images.

NB: Please bring your own tool kit or purchase from our studio @ priced between $20 to $40 per set. No shared tools supplied due to Covid 19 compliance rules.

 

Wednesday Evening Introduction to Wheel Throwing Class

Course description: This course will consist of 4 weeks of expert tuition in wheel work. You’ll learn the basics about centring clay, trimming and basic decorative techniques.

Tuesday Evening Advanced Class –more experienced potters

Course description: In this course Dianne will guide you to refine your wheel throwing or hand building techniques. You will be working with mid to high fired range of clay and glazes.  Each week a throwing technique will be demonstrated. You are free to work on your own projects or try your hand at the project demonstrated.

Thursday Evening Class- Suitable for beginners and ongoing students

Course description: This course is designed to nurture your throwing and glazing techniques.  With 4 weeks of wheel time and 2 weeks concentrated on developing your glazing / surface treatment and decoration techniques.
